Cassidy Announces FEMA Assistance Informational Meeting
BATON ROUGE – Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced he will be hosting and leading an informational meeting regarding Individual Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The meeting will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the French Settlement Town Hall Building on 16015 Highway 16. It will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
“Residents of Livingston and Ascension Parish were devastated by Hurricane Isaac. There are federal resources available to help them through this difficult time. I am committed to helping them and other impacted Louisianans access those resources.”
Congressman Cassidy will be joining local elected officials and FEMA Individual Assistance specialists at the meeting. Guidance will be provided for area residents on applying for FEMA assistance. Residents can also call 1-800-621-3362 to begin the process.
Residents in nine Louisiana parishes are currently eligible for Individual Assistance, including Livingston and Ascension. This is contingent on them suffering major losses from Hurricane Isaac. A Federal Disaster Declaration Fact Sheet outlining the current FEMA Individual Assistance ruling is attached to this release.
