Cassidy Highlights Medicare Fraud Problems
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Yesterday, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) participated in a hearing on Medicare fraud, which was held by the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Congressman Cassidy spoke with Ms. Alanna Levelle, Director of Special Investigations for Wellpoint, a managed health care company, on the challenges Medicare is facing and how to resolve them.
“Medicare reform must include action against fraud,” said Cassidy on his remarks.“There are anti-fraud measures embraced by the private sector and recommended by the Government Accountability Office which can be implemented. Such measures can save money, improve patient care and as importantly, help save Medicare. Together with reform-minded lawmakers, we will continue exposing the flaws in Medicare’s anti-fraud efforts and fight to resolve them.”
