Sep 11, 2012

BATON ROUGE –Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) is proud to announce that Mrs. Robin Marrero of Baton Rouge will named an Angel in Adoption by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.  Congressman Cassidy nominated her for the award.  He will help honor her at the annual CCAI Pin Ceremony today in the United States Capitol Complex in Washington, D.C.

“It is a privilege to help honor Robin Marrero as an Angel in Adoption.  She eagerly works to place at-risk children in loving homes.  This transforms their lives and brings unending joy to families throughout our community.  This work is vital and deserves recognition.”

According to the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, Mrs. Marrero has found adoptive parents for over 50 newborn children.   She does this work as a volunteer Placement Director with the St. Elizabeth Foundation in Baton Rouge.  Her work also includes counseling birthparents on adoption.  She also works in private practice on Social Work.  She is married and has two adoptive children.

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute designates outstanding adoptive parents and others involved in adoption as Angels in Adoption every year.  For 2012, they will honor more than 100 Americans across the country as Angels.  For more information on this program, please visit http://www.ccainstitute.org
